Hi, I’m Kelsey. Prior to completing my Master’s in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University, I trained as a yoga instructor, reiki practitioner, and completed a Master’s in Cognitive Psychology specializing in language and concept learning. I consider myself a lifelong practicing student of mindfulness, and a writer who enjoys poetry.
I believe that everyone deals with emotions in a different way. This is why I approach therapy through a multiple access point lens. Meaning our thoughts, emotions and body sensations can provide us with all kinds of information and we learn in our own ways. Life can get messy, but unweaving the knots doesn’t have to be something you do alone. I understand that it can take time to process these experiences and I’d like to flow at the speed that feels right for you. By incorporating various mindfulness skills, we will work together to unweave these knots that can occur in life.
I completed my training in trauma-focused approaches and draw from Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy, Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy, Narrative therapy, and Somatic-based practices. It is my aim that you feel heard, seen, and understood in this space. We can come from different experiences, but compassion can be present and this is something that is felt.
If you are interested in therapy and consider this to be an approach that fits for you, I will be here to connect with you.
